Press release – Boots by UR

First track from UR – Boots

Cover art: UR – Boots

Boots is a song about the powers that be, and the feeling of powerlessness. In times when the powers walk steadily, and without hesitation watches every step you take there are those who speaks up. This singer keeps singing songs, to keep faith as times are getting rougher.

UR – Folk pop duo

UR is a Norwegian folk pop duo writing and recording their own material. Vegard Steinseth is producing and Arild Kr. Standal is the main writer. Vegard is educated in the field of music and production. He plays electric guitars and programming. Arild is a self taught guitar player and singer. One of his influences is the early Joan Armatrading, Cat Stevens and a healthy dose of rock’n’roll. His chord progressions and harmonies may give Vegard raise the eye brows, and his finger settings on that acoustic guitar that you just don’t want to try at home.

They both performs on different instruments and whatever in their folk-pop-lab. Vegard has been seen playing logs with rods and brushes because it sounds really good. And that old out of tune piano is still played on the keys that’s not really off. They have planned to just go ahead and call up someone to tune it, but then a thought pops into Vegard’s mind. This melody you played a few days ago, I’ve got an idea for that one. And so it goes. There are lot of songs ready to be mastered at the vaults of this particular pop-labarotorium.

Boots is written by Arild Kr. Standal og sung by Vegard Steinseth. This is the first song from UR.
